Objectives

GI WACAF organised and led a workshop to develop a national regulation for the use of chemical dispersants in the event of an oil spill. Through a combination of presentations, facilitated discussions and group exercises, key stakeholders, supported by GI WACAF personnel and consultant collaboratively developed the regulation. The workshop resulted in a framed draft national regulation.

The remainder of the work on oil spill contingency planning took the form of facilitated working sessions aimed at analysing and improving Cabo Verde’s existing draft NOSPC.
