|Topic||Liability and Compensation|
This activity aims at training the authorities on the scope of action and the implementation of the IMO Conventions relating to liability and compensation in the event of oil spill, in particular through case studies and table-top exercises (assessment and settlement procedure, cost calculation, etc.).
Due to travel restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, the national workshop initially planned in Lomé will take place remotely, using teleconferencing services.
The initial workshop program was adapted to take into account the specificities of an activity carried out remotely. Special efforts have been made to provide the participants with the most constructive and beneficial training experience possible. Instead of a full three-day workshop as initially planned, this online training will take place over several half-days including presentations delivered by international experts and trainers, as well as practical exercises.
