The position is a P2-equivalent post on a three-month contract, subject to extension based on satisfactory performance.
Under the immediate supervision of the Technical Officer, Oil Pollution Preparedness, Response and Cooperation (OPRC), and the overall supervision of the Deputy Director, Sub-Division for Implementation, Marine Environment Division, the Technical Officer will assist in carrying out responsibilities assigned to the Sub-Division. The incumbent will perform a variety of technical, policy and international regulatory work-related marine protection issues related primarily to pollution prevention, preparedness and response. This will also involve, and programme/project implementation of technical activities delivered within the framework of the Organization’s Technical Cooperation Programme.
