Conference on Marine Safety and Fisheries Protection – Nigeria – July 13-14 2017

Clement Chazot, GI WACAF Project Manager, will participate to the International Conference on Marine Safety and Fisheries Protection organized by the Norwegian Embassy in Nigeria, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), in collaboration with other partners.

The conference will be held in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria between July 13 —14 2017, and will gather professionals from governments, regulatory agencies, private sector, and other relevant stakeholders in West, Central and Southern Africa region.

The key goal of the conference is to highlight environmental issues connecting to oil spill and facilitate discussion on response tools, contingency planning, regional cooperation, as well as facilitate discussions between public and private sectors to enhance effective oil spill prevention and responses.

A presentation will be delivered on the GIWACAF Project, focusing on issues of marine pollution and oil spill responses, safety and environmental protection, and effort for regional cooperation.
